The side plunger knife 700733757 is mounted on the face of the plunger and shears the crop mat against the stationary knife as the plunger travels forward. A clean shear is what produces a square, well defined bale edge; a dull or chipped blade tears the crop instead, which leaves a ragged flake and costs extra tractor power on every stroke.

Blades wear on the cutting edge and also at the mounting holes, where repeated impacts can elongate the bolt holes and let the blade lift slightly. Checking the blade for edge condition and flatness, not just for chips, is what keeps bale edges tight. All steel construction gives predictable wear behaviour compared with layered blades that can delaminate.

Because a baler carries both side and centre knives, operators normally renew them at the same time and check the stationary knives for matching wear so the clearance stays even across the chamber.

Blades are packed with protective edge covers, boxed in multiples and palletised for export with the part number marked on each carton. Mixed orders of side, centre and stationary knives can be shipped together, and we supply the mounting bolts on request so the replacement is complete.
